The new Health Center will improve camper safety
The safety of our campers is our highest priority. An existing infirmary meets that objective – but only barely. The new Health Center will contain two exam rooms, expanded medical bays and an office and sleeping area for staff. Our medical staff stays on site around the clock to respond to any emergencies, large or small, day or night, which is why we are also planning a separate housing facility next to the health center to accommodate physicians and nurses.
During the off-season, the new quarters will offer comfortable living space to scholars-in-residence, VIP guests and wedding and b’nai mitzvot families. The ability to offer these kinds of up-to-date lodgings will improve Schechter’s efforts to attract non-camper revenue that can be used to keep tuition low and provide for upkeep and maintenance of facilities.
